Biography
Bjorn Book-Larsson brings 20 years of experience as a game company founder and technology leader, starting with SkillJam in 1999, the internet’s first skill gaming tournament site. The site grew to power the backend tournament systems for 149 partner sites including MSN, AOL, iVillage, Virgin Games and DirectTV, before being sold to FUNTechnologies, a London and Toronto listed company combining game development, fantasy sports and game tournament systems. The company eventually sold to Liberty Media, parent of QVC and DirecTV. After the transaction Bjorn spent time at India-based Game Shastra creating outsourced game development teams for partners like Activision and Big Fish Games. Following Game Shastra, Bjorn joined K2 Network and Reloaded Games, first as COO and CTO, and eventually as CEO. The company was the first free2play® PC game publisher in the West, publishing global free2play PC MMOs like Knight Online, WarRock and Global MU. The company also acquired Fallen Earth, All Points Bulletin and Hawken, which it ported to Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Bjorn recently joined HTC as the VP of Product for Viveport, HTC’s Virtual Reality experience store, and is now working on the software product strategy for HTC’s global virtual reality experiences.
