Biography

As Vice President, Global Media Distribution at the National Basketball Association, Jeff Marsilio manages strategy and business development for the NBA’s digital media business.

Since joining the NBA in May 2013, Marsilio has been instrumental in many league accomplishments, including the league’s partnership with NextVR to stream the first live professional sports game in virtual reality – Golden State vs. New Orleans from Oracle Arena on the opening night of the 2015-16 NBA season.  More recently, Marsilio helped develop expanded partnerships with Twitter and YouTube that provide new offerings and more basketball content for fans on the social media platforms.

Marsilio worked with the world’s largest multi-platform network – BroadbandTV – to conceive and launch NBA Playmakers, a groundbreaking community for video creators focused on basketball and basketball culture.

An attorney by trade, Marsilio was influential in the negotiation of the league’s partnership with FanDuel to become the NBA’s first official one-day fantasy partner.  He was also responsible for finalizing agreements to distribute NBA content on a variety of devices, including Sony PlayStation, Amazon, Android TV and XBox.

Preceding his time at the NBA, Marsilio worked as a corporate associate at Davis & Gilbert LLP, Latham & Watkins LLP and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.

Marsilio earned a bachelor’s degree in English and Economics from the University of Connecticut and is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law.
